OAKLAND (KRON) — California Highway Patrol officers have partially closed Interstate Highway 580 in Oakland on Wednesday afternoon to investigate a multi-vehicle crash in which one person was found shot.
The crash on eastbound Highway 580 near the Broadway exit was reported at 3:20 p.m., according to the CHP.
A male victim was shot and an ambulance was called for treatment, CHP Officer Sean Wilkenfeld said. The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.
The CHP has detained one possible suspect in the shooting and another may still be at large, Wilkenfeld said.
At this time, no arrests have been made, officers said.
Investigators have closed the two left lanes.
