BAY AREA (KRON)– Most of the Bay Area woke up to storms Tuesday morning.
This storm is expected to be much heavier than the one to hit the area on Sunday.
National Weather Service forecasters in Sacramento predict about a half inch of rain in the Delta, Fairfield, Vacaville and the area of the Carquinez Strait.
“It’s raining pretty good” there now, meteorologist Courtney Obergfell said at about 4 a.m.
This storm is expected to be heavy through 7 a.m.
Obergfell recommends allowing extra time to get to work.
Along with the rain, wind advisories have been issued for four Bay Area bridges.
Those are the Bay Bridge, the San Mateo Bridge, the Richmond-San Rafael and the Dumbarton bridges.
Thunderstorms are possible through Tuesday evening.
The storms would even bring some small hail, no larger than an inch in diameter.
While the brunt of the storm will be over by Tuesday night, showers may linger into Wednesday.
