SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Ahead of tomorrow’s big May Day protests, the ACLU today launched a new mobile app to help people who think they are being mistreated by police.  It’s the latest in a wave of social justice apps hitting the market.

The ACLU mobile justice app is a free download that can help you collect evidence and report police brutality.

The main function of this app is to help users preserve video evidence they capture.

There have been reports by people that their phone is confiscated by police after they capture a video and it’s deleted or their phone is smashed destroying the evidence.

So when you use this app instead of simply saving a copy to your local drive on your phone, the mobile justice app automatically forwards a copy of your video directly to the ACLU for review.

So your video is instantly uploaded into the cloud and saved.
