LAS VEGAS (KRON/BCN) — A 27-year-old San Jose man died in an attack outside a Las Vegas hotel over the weekend, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino at about 4:20 a.m. on Sunday and found a man in the hotel’s valet area with an apparent head injury.
The victim, now identified as DaShawn Antwon Fouch Hawkins of San Jose was brought to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police say an investigation revealed that someone punched Hawkins, who then fell to the ground and lost consciousness.
An official with the coroner-medical examiner’s office said the cause and manner of death is still being investigated.
Police said investigators are looking for the occupants of two vehicles that were in the valet area at the time of the attack.
One vehicle is described as a small, red, 4-door crossover vehicle with a sunroof or moon roof. Police said a male was driving the vehicle and a female was a passenger.
Police are describing the other vehicle as a white, 4-door Chevrolet Impala with a sunroof, which was driven by a female.
