DALY CITY (KRON) — Daly City police have arrested a man accused of dragging a San Mateo County Gang Task Force officer.

37-year-old Regan Mauga-Head was arrested on Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Wednesday night, around 9 p.m., officers participating in the San Mateo County Gang Task Force tried to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Mission and Brunswick streets in Daly City.

During the traffic stop, one of the officers contacted the driver who proceeded to drive away, dragging the officer a short distance.

A second officer fired at the vehicle, a white 2014 Chrysler 300, but the driver was able to get away.

The officer who was dragged sustained minor injuries.

Police don’t know if anybody inside the car was hit by gunfire.

Wednesday, the Daly City Police Department said that the Chrysler they are looking for is white and a 4-door car, with license plate #7FFS975.

This case is being investigated by the Daly City Police Department.
