SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Imagine controlling a television with your voice; calling out “mute,” “pause,” other TV commands, or even channels like “HGTV,” “Food Network,” “CNN,” and of course, “KRON 4.”

It’s all possible with Comcast Cable’s new Xfinity voice control remote.

The new remote lets users speak commands to the remote to control their cable box and TV.

Customers can go to any Xfinity store and swap out their old remote for the newer version. It could even be free, depending on the customer’s subscription.

KRON 4’s Gabe Slate got a hands-on demo of the remote in action and has more information in this video report.
