HERCULES (KRON) — Two men in Hercules were caught shoplifting when a wardrobe malfunction revealed they had shoved hamburgers down their pants.
Officers responded around 8:30 p.m. to a report of a theft that had occurred 20 minutes earlier at Lucky Supermarket, police said. According to its website, the store is located at 1590 Sycamore Ave.
A witness reported seeing two men in their 50s shuffling around the store without buying anything.
As the two men were exiting the store, it was obvious to store workers and witnesses that one of the men had stuffed items down his baggy pants, according to police.
When the men were confronted about the suspected theft, the weight of the baggy pants made them fall to the ground, causing a “wardrobe malfunction,” revealing stolen packages of hamburgers, police said.
The men fled the grocery store parking lot in a GMC Yukon before police arrived on scene.
The hamburglars are still at large.
