Six women were robbed of their gold chains in Fremont and the suspects remain at large, according to police.
Many of these robberies were violent, with the women being dragged to the ground as the thief ripped a gold chain off their neck.
One of the robberies happened near Oliveira Elementary School in the 4100 block of Alder Ave.
The victim was pulled to the ground and injured by the suspect. Police describe him as a thin man in his 20’s, standing 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall.
He was wearing a black baseball hat, a gray hooded zip-up sweatshirt over a black shirt, light gray sweatpants, and black and white Jordan shoes, police said.
This robbery is one of two chain-snatching cases that police believe are related. They believe the suspect targeted women walking near elementary schools around pick-up time.
If you have information on these robberies please call the Fremont Police Department.
