MARIN (KRON) — The controversial bill ending the right of parents to opt out of vaccines for their children entering the school system was signed into law by the governor Tuesday morning.

The previous exemptions for personal or religious beliefs have been dropped. KRON 4 talked to a Marin mother who is part of the opposition to the bill. She said opponents plan to keep fighting.

Julie Schiffman said the new law will not effect her two boys, neither of whom have been vaccinated. She already home schools her 6 and 8-year-old children.
