According to Oakland fire officials, the 2 acre fire is now under control. There are still hot spots that firefighters are watching to make sure the fire doesn’t spread.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

OAKLAND (BCN/KRON) — KRON 4 is learning that fire crews have knocked down the brush fire in the vicinity of 5675 Castle Drive in the Oakland hills.

According to Oakland fire officials, the fire had been upgraded to two alarms.

The fire was first reported at 3:50 p.m. and upgraded at 4:04 p.m.

Oakland California Temple, a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is also in the vicinity.

Dispatchers said the size of the fire was two to three acres with light fuel. Dispatchers haven’t received reports that it threatened any structures.
