(BCN) – Hundreds of people are without power in the Bay Area this afternoon, according to a PG&E spokesman.
About 410 customers are without power in the East Bay, the largest number in the Bay Area, PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
In the South Bay 136 customers are without power, while 312 customers are being affected in the Peninsula.
Additionally, 116 customers are without power in the North Bay, while only a handful of customers in San Francisco are affected, according to Guidi.
Crews are working as quickly as possible to restore power, Guidi said. “As long as it’s safe, they’ll work around the clock.”
Guidi estimated that customers affected by the outages throughout the area could have their power restored as early as late afternoon or early this evening.
Friday night, about 1,549 customers were left without power in Santa Cruz starting at about 10:50 p.m.
Power has since been restored to those customers. The outage was caused by equipment failure, according to Giudi.
