OAKLAND (KRON) — The Golden State Warriors’ magical season continued into the playoffs on Saturday afternoon.
In the first quarter, Rockets guard Patrick Beverely got chippy with Stephen Curry, resulting in the MVP to outscore the the entire Houston team! Curry scored 16 and the Rockets had 15 total at the end of the first.
The Dubs continued their domination in the second quarter and played well on both ends of the ball. Steph Curry made five threes in the first half and had 24 points. However, he tweaked his ankle and had to be taken out of the game. He did return later, though. The Warriors still led by 27 points, 60-33 at the half.
Houston outscored Golden State by five in the third quarter, but it proved to be too little, too late. Curry did end up going to the locker room again and was available to play, but Steve Kerr kept it safe by sitting his superstar out.
The Warriors ended up winning easily, 104-78.
Game 2 will be at Oracle Arena on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
#Curry finished…Warriors rolling…Houston nothing there. Time to enjoy outside a beautiful Bay Area day…until Giants and Sharks.
