Up to 20 inches of rain fell in Hawaii in the last 24 hours, according to a tweet from the governor.
Governor David Ige says the rainfall is expected to continue as Hurricane Lane makes its way through Hawaii. On Thursday afternoon, Lane was downgraded to a Category 3.
Flooding and landslides remain a big concern.
Here are the forecasted rain totals between Wednesday and Saturday.
A full Hawaii rainfall summary could be found here.
Lane was not projected to make a direct hit on the islands, but officials warned that even a lesser blow could do significant harm.
Some areas could see up to 30 inches (about 80 centimeters) of rain.
