Looking to help out as the East Coast prepares for Hurricane Florence?
A local blood drive is being held Thursday at San Francisco State University from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for those who’d like to donate.
The blood drive will be held in the Student Activity Anne 1 located at North State Drive.
All donors will receive a free San Francisco Giants t-shirt and two tickets to an upcoming Giants game.
Blood donors nationwide are being asked to give blood as soon as possible over the next several days to help ensure patient blood needs can continue to be met in the wake of Hurricane Florence.
Type O blood donations are the most critically needed at this time, but all blood types are welcome.
Both existing and first-time donors are urged to make and keep appointments over the next several days and the coming weeks when possible.
Anyone ages 16 (with parental consent) and up, who weighs at least 110 pounds, and is in general good health, may be eligible to donate blood.
Visit bloodcenters.org or call 800-393-4483 to schedule an appointment near you.
