Two teenagers died within days of one another, both suspected of overdosing on opioids.

Now, Livermore police are putting out an alert on Facebook, warning the community of the possibility the drugs the teens took could have been laced with fentanyl.

Sixteen-year-old Oceana Muth was once a student at Livermore’s Granada High.

The other victim was 18-year-old Justin Miles, the stepson of a famous cartoonist who is sharing his grief on social media.

“I got a call right after the 911 alert from my ex-wife who told me that my stepson, the little boy that I helped raise from the age of 2, was dead,” said Scott Adams, the creator of the comic strip “Dilbert.” “My stepson could have had two doses of fentanyl. What we hear is that these drugs are getting more and more dangerous, more and more addictive. They put you in immediate mortal danger, and it’s very upsetting.”

The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District sent a letter home to parents alerting them of the deaths of the two teenagers, letting them know counselors will be on hand all week to continue to provide support as needed to help the students deal with this sad situation.
