FAIRFIELD (BCN) — Police in Fairfield on Thursday arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery out of Yuba County.
Kevin Dewayne Ward, 23, of Fairfield, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Three other people located in a vehicle with Ward were also arrested.
Jayro Magana, 19, and Jovante Goodwin, 23, both of Fairfield, and Asiah Jackson, 26, of Suisun, were arrested on suspicion of weapons offenses, police said. Magana was also arrested on suspicion of committing a felony while out on bail and Goodwin was also arrested on suspicion of violating his probation, police said.
On Thursday at 5:22 p.m., detectives from the Fairfield Police Department’s Special Operations Team were notified by the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office an armed suspect might be in Fairfield.
Detectives from both departments conducted surveillance in the 300 block of Vel Place, and at 7:38 p.m., they spotted Ward sitting in a parked vehicle, police said.
Ward was then taken into custody without incident.
During a search of the vehicle, detectives located a loaded handgun, and the three other people in the vehicle were subsequently arrested, police said.
