NEW YORK, NY (WJHL/AP) — New York City’s Time Warner Center, the building that contains CNN’s headquarters, was evacuated Thursday, the NYPD said.
Thursday night’s evacuation comes a day after a bomb was mailed to CNN, addressed to former CIA director John Brennan. CNN was partially evacuated Wednesday after a suspicious package containing a crude pipe bomb was delivered to the media company.
The building also houses a Whole Foods and a number of shops.
CNN is reporting the NYPD is investigating a suspicious package at the shops.
The Associated Press reports police are checking out a report of two unattended packages inside the mall. The first floor of the mall remains open.
The New York Police Department said in a tweet Thursday evening that it was evaluating the packages “as a precaution.”
CNN personnel in the building Thursday stayed on the air while police checked things out.
