SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Starting in July, it is going to cost a bit more for you to park your car at Caltrain stations.

On July 1, Caltrain parking fees at all stations will increase by 10 percent, according to spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew.

That means daily parking fees will increase by 50 cents from $5 to $5.50, and monthly parking permits will go up from $50 to $55 a month.

Parking at the Belmont station will now cost $5.50 a day to park, Bartholomew said. Parking had previously been free there.

Higher parking rates will be charged at the San Jose Diridon Station during SAP Center events.

Caltrain’s Board of Directors approved the increase in parking fees in Dec. 2015.
