EL CERRITO (KRON) — El Cerrito police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a package thief.
The package was stolen Tuesday from a home on the 2600 block of Arlington Boulevard, police said. It was reported stolen at 2:27 p.m.
Police said a man took the package from the front porch. The theft was caught on home surveillance video.
Police describe the suspect as an Asian man, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, around 160 pounds, and as having a thick mustache. He was wearing gold sunglasses, a blue Nike shirt with the world “Beast” on the front, and blue jeans, according to police.
The video also shows a yellow lanyard and possible identification badge worn around the suspect’s neck.
It is possible that the suspect was operating as a door to door solicitor and may have had contact with other homeowners in the area.
