SANTA CLARA COUNTY (KRON) — Former Stanford swimmer and convicted sex offender Brock Turner spent 90 days behind bars at the Santa Clara County Mail jail.
After his release Friday morning, Crime Watch Daily got an inside look at 21-year-old Turner’s jail cell.
“There’s an exercise yard in another location, but this is where they spend the majority of their day,” Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith said.
Turner shared a cell with four other inmates who were also in protective custody.
“Typical day, probably breakfast around 4:30 or 5 a.m.,” Sheriff Smith said. “If they have court, they’re taken to court. There are programs, there’s television.”
While in jail, Turner got more mail than most inmates due to the nationwide attention the case received.
“We don’t read their mail but I heard he received a lot of hate mail,” Sheriff Smith said.
