SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Cal Fire has now contained a 10-acre grass fire near the San Bruno Mountain Wednesday night.

As of 6:45 p.m., firefighters have reported the fire has slowed down.

Air tankers were on the scene.

The fire was reported around 5:37 p.m. on Chestnut Ave. and Hillside Blvd. in South San Francisco.

Firefighters are asking residents to take an alternate route along those streets. Multiple agencies are working to put it out.

Northside Hillside Blvd. is closed because of the fire.

Authorities are recommending to use El Camino Real as an alternate route.

No homes were threatened and no injuries were reported.

Crews will be working throughout the night to make sure the fire is out.
