(KRON) A KRON4 News Producer is set to adopt ‘Bullet’ the dog after he lost his leg after being shot.

Lindsey Clark who produces KRON4’s 5pm newscast fell in love with ‘Bullet’ after seeing his heart wrenching story on her own newscast.

“As soon as I saw him I knew I wanted to adopt him” Clark said about seeing ‘Bullet’ on TV.

Clark is currently fostering the  2-year-old German Shepherd for another week, then plans on adopting him if all goes well.

Clark’s other dog ‘Lovie’ has taken to ‘Bullet’ and they have become fast dog pals.ADDITIONAL COVERAGE: DOG SHOT IN THE LEG

Two weeks ago a good samaritan brought the dog into the services’ shelter in Martinez with an injury to its back right leg.

After a number of X-rays, veterinarians found the dog had been shot in the leg and that its right femur was shattered.

Veterinarians had to amputate the leg.

Contra Costa County Animal Services officers are investigating the case.
