The bad air is definitely having an impact on people’s health.

KRON4 was at an emergency room in the East Bay on Friday.

She spoke with a doctor about what they are seeing and has some advice for those suffering from the smoke.

At Sutter Health’s Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, you can see behind me the long line of ambulances.

Not all are here with patients experiencing respiratory problems due to the smoke, but a doctor did tell KRON4 that they are certainly seeing an uptick in patients.

Dr. Jeff Chen, an emergency room physician, says he is seeing more patients.

The patients most vulnerable are children and older people.

People should not be outside that day. Doctors say they should not exercise outside

The air quality is expected to get better starting on Saturday.
