If you’re looking for love, your special someone may be in your Facebook friend list.
The social networking site is launching a dating feature called “secret crush,” that will let users create a private list with up to nine friends they’re interested in dating, according to Associated Press.
The new tool isn’t just for quick hookups, but to build “meaningful, long-term relationships.”
All Facebook users will have to opt-in, so you won’t automatically be able to access the feature.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg stressed that privacy and security were of top concern when building the feature.
The dating feature will not suggest or matchup users up with potential suitors. This is already what other dating apps that rely on Facebook data do, such as Tinder, AP reports.
HOW IT WORKS
When a user lists a Facebook friend as their “secret crush,” a notification will be sent to that perspective person.
Only if the feeling is mutual, will the user’s identity be revealed, according to Newsweek.
The feature isn’t available in the U.S. just yet, it should come later this year, but users in Colombia, Canada, and 14 other countries can access it.
