A pediatrician and her husband in Ventura County are accused of creating a profitable theft scheme.
Authorities searched their home and found stolen materials used to make target barcodes.
Police believe Dr. Elizabeth Hopper and David Hopper put cheaper barcodes on expensive items and rang themselves up at the self-checkout lane.
Officers say the couple has stolen from at least three Target stores since January, taking $2,400 worth of merchandise.
The couple was arrested, but are both out on bail.
They are expected in court in a couple of weeks to face felony charges.
