A South Carolina mom was proud of her son graduating with highest honors, so she decided to order a cake to celebrate.

Mom Cara Koscinski told WCIV the cake was a surprise for her son Jacob.

The sheet cake was ordered online through grocery store Publix.

Koscinski says when she asked the bakery to include her son’s honor, she was alerted that “profane/special characters [are] not allowed,” according to WCIV.

“The website had censored me and this is a website that you can refer to for the Latin term for Summa Cum Laude, which means highest honors,” she told WCIV.

The “dirty word” was replaced with hypens on the cake.

Jacob called the whole situation “frustrating and humiliating,” but said his friends couldn’t stop laughing about it.

According to the Koscinskis, a Publix manager has apologized and offered a refund.

Corporate officials have not responded to WCIV’s request for comment.
