U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized 4.4 kilograms of heroin disguised as cooked chicken at John F. Kennedy Airport on July 15.
According to a press release from CBP, a United States citizen landed at JFK on a flight from Mexico City. CBP baggage inspectors discovered four egg-shaped packages of heroin in the woman’s luggage.
The heroin has an estimated street value of more than $300,000.
The woman, Emma Soriano, was arrested and faces federal narcotics smuggling charges.
