The Menlo Park academy where a badminton coach worked has released a statement responding to his sexual assault arrest.
According to the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Office, Coach Khan Malaythong was found in a park with one of his underage students, sitting in his brand new Maserati SUV.
He was arrested and charged with sexual assault.
The Synergy Badminton Academy in Menlo Park issued this statement on Friday.
“Synergy Badminton Academy in Menlo Park today confirmed that Khankham Malaythong, formerly a coach at the badminton academy is no longer employed with the organization. Synergy has cooperated with authorities in their investigation. Synergy will not tolerate behavior that runs counter to its operating philosophy or that jeopardizes the well-being of people enrolled in badminton training at the academy.”
