Sonoma County officials are asking for the public’s help in an animal cruelty case after a dog was found dead inside a backpack.
Officials released a photo of the black Outdoor Products backpack that was found on the side of Todd Road near Santa Rosa last month.
A necropsy revealed the 8-month-old dog died from being strangled.
Officials are describing the female dog as a white and tan, Chihuahua mix.
