The San Francisco Giants will trade right fielder Andrew McCutchen to the New York Yankees, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney.

With the Giants 67-68 and seven games out of the National League West with 27 games left to go, San Francisco is all but out of the race, making McCutchen available.

Earlier this month, the Giants placed McCutchen through waivers, which he cleared. He was then able to be traded to any team.

In the deal, the Giants are expected to receive two prospects, one a young infielder Abiatal Avelino.

The Giants signed McCutchen to a one-year, $14.75 million deal in the offseason.

McCutchen was hitting .255, with 15 home runs and a .357 on-base percentage.
