A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in the shooting of a 15-year-old teen in East San Jose on Monday, police said on Thursday.
The shooting happened in the 900 block of Walnut Woods Drive at around 4:14 p.m. When officers arrived, they said they found a 15-year-old boy shot at least once. He was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators found a group of teens was confronted by a group of males in a green convertible Ford Mustang. After the two groups exchanged heated words, the 16-year-old got out of the Mustang and shot at the group of victims, police said.
That’s when the 15-year-old boy was hit, officers said.
The 16-year-old was booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for assault with a deadly weapon, a felony.
