A man has been arrested in multiple attempted sexual assaults near Alameda beach, police said on Wednesday.
Police say the person they arrested is the same man who assaulted two women and propositioned others at Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach in Alameda over the last week.
Tips from callers led to the arrest of the suspect.
“While undercover officers from East Bay Regional Park District Police Department were conducting surveillance this morning near Crown Beach, the Alameda Police Department notified us that their officers had just arrested an individual similar to the subject for whom we were we were searching,” police said.
Police are still gathering evidence.
