Palo Alto police are looking for two men who robbed a mother and daughter on Saturday afternoon.
The street robbery happened in the 400 block of Kingsley Avenue.
The two women were walking west on Kingsley Avenue toward Waverley Street when they heard someone yelling. The mom told police she saw a man wearing a bandana covering his face and running towards his daughter.
The mom put her arms around her daughter to shield her, but the man used his body and ran into them, police said. That’s when they were both knocked to the ground and robbed.
The suspect jumped into a dark or red sedan, driven by another man.
The suspect and getaway driver sped away from the scene, going south on Waverley Street.
When the mother got up, she realized her purse was stolen.
The mom and daughter suffered minor abrasions.
The mother is in her 50s and the daughter is in her 20s, police said.
The man is described as dark-skinned who was either black or Polynesian. He was in his mid-20s, about 6 feet tall, and weighed 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark shirt, khaki shorts, and his face was covered with the bandana.
The driver also wore a bandana over his face and was dark-skinned.
Detectives are investigating if the case is related to similar street robberies on Aug. 21 and Sept. 10.
