A Bay Area man is searching for his daughter who went missing two weeks ago.

Twenty-four-year-old Sidney Avant was last seen at the Martinez Amtrak station, attempting to purchase a ticket but never got on a bus.

On Wednesday night, her dad and other family and friends are putting up flyers all over the place, hoping someone will recognize her and help bring her home.

Sidney hasn’t been seen or heard from in two weeks, but it’s not stopping her family from giving up hope that she’s alive.

“This is not her,” father Robert Avant said. “She would not disappear like this.”

The family hopes someone has seen the missing woman.

“We hope you are OK and you miss us, too,” grandfather William Black said.

Sidney is about 5 feet 2 inches tall, has tattoos and piercings, and also goes by the name of Zoe Black. Her father, Robert, says Sidney entered a rehabilitation program in San Francisco and was later transferred to a Martinez hospital.

She called a friend on Sept. 17 from the hospital asking for a ride at the Amtrak station.

The friend was at work and told her to call back in an hour, but Sidney never called back.

“That is the last known contact that we know of with Sidney,” Avant said.

Sidney’s dad said they had a great relationship and she always tells him where she is.N

Not only has he not heard from her, but she also has not posted on any of her social media accounts.

“The reason we are so freaked out is because the people that know Sidney and the people that raised her and the people that love her, we know who she is and what she is and that this is not, this is not, she is not a street person,” Avant said. “She doesn’t have the survival skills to be out on the street. Her resources and her support group are her family, her friends, myself. No one was mad at her. No one was angry with her.”

Sidney’s dad has searched homeless shelters, hospitals, and homeless encampments, but has yet to find her.

If you’ve seen Sidney, contact police.
