House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was heckled by a group of protesters at a political event in Flroida last week, with some yelling profanities and calling her a “communist.”
Video of the incident shows the small group of protesters calling Pelosi (D-Calif.) a communist in both English and Spanish as she walks into a campaign event for congressional candidate Donna Shalala in Coral Gables.
“You don’t belong here you f–ing communist f-k,” one person can be heard saying. “You and your f–ing Democrats.”
Pelossi walks by and doesn’t utter a word as she enters the building, but the protesters start pounding on the door.
“Open up! It’s the Proud Boys in here,” one person says.
The crowd then erupts into a chant of “Socialism sucks!”
The video was shot by a man who is reportedly the leader of the Miami chapter of the Proud Boys.
The Proud Boys, a group of self-proclaimed “Western chauvinists” who are described as an extremist group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, have been connected to recent violence in Oregon and New York, where police are seeking to arrest nine people affiliated with the group after a street fight with some anti-fascist protesters.
Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said President Trump and Republicans were to blame for the display of “incivility, intolerance and aggression,” according to a statement provided to the Washington Post.
