A group of Bay Area students is hosting a concert to raise money to help migrants moving toward the United States-Mexico border. 

The concert is happening at the First Presbyterian Church in Berkeley where proceeds are being collected.

Migrants seeking asylum in the United States are being detained in record numbers at the U.S.-Mexico border. 

On Friday night, a group of Bay Area students banded together for a night of music and activism. 

The group Voces Fuertes, or strong voices in English, is determined to help the Central American immigrants who are bound to be detained if they successfully cross into the United States by donating money raised at the concert.

The Trump administration is planning to send at least 800 active duty troops to the Mexican border.
