The wet weather is causing some problems on the highways and roads across the Bay Area with some of them getting flooded.

It had been raining on and off on Friday. The roads looked calm Friday night, but it was the type of day where you just should stay inside.

Rain has taken over the highways. Highway 280 south in South San Francisco on Friday afternoon was flooded. The visibility was low for drivers.

And a sea of brake lights was seen as vehicles slowed down in the rain.

“Slowing down is the number one thing you can do to avoid those collisions,” a CHP officer said. “Other things you should consider is maintain that extra space because it will take a while to put your vehicle to a stop in the rain.”

In these conditions, the CHP is asking motorists to drive carefully, especially if you find yourself in standing water.

“Don’t just hit your brakes suddenly because that will cause you to completely spin out of control,” the officer said.

This is all the more reason to take it slow.

So far, the rain this week led to power outages, flooded roadways, traffic throughout the Bay Area, and accidents.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry got into two car accidents on Highway 24 on Friday morning.

The weather is to blame. Oakland police say a driver of a silver Lexus lost control of his or her car in the rain and wet roads and hit Curry’s Porsche.

While Curry pulled over, another car lost control and rear-ended the Porsche

Pictures show the damage of Curry’s vehicle. No one was injured.

Police say everyone had their seat belts on and did not seem to be driving impaired.

It’s just a reminder to slow down and take your time while driving in these conditions.
