SANTA CLARA (KRON) — It’s hard to imagine Levi’s Stadium going from red and gold one week to silver and black the next for an entire season.

Though unless the Raiders can mend fences with Oakland and stay at the coliseum for one last season, a logical option might be for the two Bay Area teams to share the Santa Clara stadium.

Though there are no formal discussions on having the stadium shared between the Raiders and 49er’s, Levi’s Stadium was designed to accommodate two NFL teams.

The idea, however, doesn’t seem to have much support from fans.

49ers Booster Club President Lisa Santillan also thinks it’s a bad idea.

“Unfortunately I don’t think the average 49ers fan would appreciate sharing Levi’s stadium with any team but especially the Raiders,” said Santillan.

At San Jose’s World of Sports Memorabilia, where many Raiders fans shop, there is little love for the two teams sharing Levi’s Stadium, says shop co-owner Santos Hernandez.

“It would be tough to share given the feelings between the two teams and because Levi’s Stadium is all set up for the 49ers,the faithful,” said Hernandez.

In a statement, Executive Director of the Stadium Authority Deanna Santanna said she has not been approached by either the 49ers or Raiders to discuss the option of a second team at Levi’s.

49ers spokesman Bob Lange said that if the NFL would like to explore the matter, the 49ers would be willing to speak.

The lease agreement with Santa Clara details how such an arrangement might work in terms of rent, public safety and other costs if things get serious.

But it’s clear Levi’s Stadium, with the red and gold everywhere, is 49er territory and Raider nation might not be all that welcome, even for one season.

“We’ve always had the battle of the bay and I’m sure they feel the same way about us, you stay on your side of the bay and we’ll stay on ours,” Santillan said.
